Very few alterations have been made since we moved into 57 de Montfort Road almost ten years ago: painted the floors, put down lino, added a wood-burner, planted fruit trees and fruit bushes in the back garden, herbs, strawberries and fuchsias in the front. There are many interesting features throughout the house: the glass in internal doors and door frames, wide old floorboards, funky door handles, original architraves, mouldings and cupboards. The loft is large and untouched except as storage space. The bathroom is old-fashioned and buyers may think it and other components of the house need modernising. We, however, simply enjoyed the space and the comfort of our home and did not want to make any substantial changes to a place that was so welcoming. My children and I have been able to move on with our lives here, we have been really happy, both in the house and as part of the community.

I love this house and selling only because it is too big for me now. My children have grown up, moved to London and along the coast, to the east and to the west. I want to sell to someone who is going to live in the house and enjoy its spaces and location. For me, there is no rush to move but I am very happy to accommodate the needs and the schedule of a buyer.
