On the edge of the beautiful village of Markington, sitting high above the main street, 3 Poplar Terrace is in a super location for enjoying the North Yorkshire countryside and village life. Whilst the house does need some care and attention, it has great potential as a family home or as a country escape for someone seeking a slower pace of life in calm surroundings.\r
\r
The village of Markington sits part way between Harrogate and Ripon, about a mile from the A61 that joins the two. The village has a strong community feel, centred around the village hall, cricket club, and the much-loved Yorkshire Hussar pub and restaurant. Regular community events bring the village together, there are fairs, concerts, sporting and health groups throughout the year.\r
\r
Markington's primary school is currently rated 'outstanding' by Ofsted, and the village also has a thriving shop and post office, and a church.\r
\r
3 Poplar Terrace is a traditional semi-detached home with three bedrooms, two bath/shower rooms, extended living space, and gardens front and rear.\r
\r
A long driveway runs from the road past the front garden and side of the house to the rear, plenty of parking space here for several vehicles. \r
\r
Inside, through a small entrance hall, and into the front sitting room. A log burning stove helps to keep the home cosy on winter evenings, and a large window looks out to the front garden and down to the street below.\r
\r
Next is a large open-plan kitchen/diner, a modern kitchen with integrated appliances, leading through to a dining room or second sitting room, large sliding doors take you out the south-facing patio and rear garden. There's a separate utility room and a shower room and toilet too.\r
\r
Upstairs are three bedrooms, two doubles and one single room which would make a lovely home office with green country views over the fields and woodland at the end of the garden. Across the landing is a modern bathroom.\r
\r
Outside, the rear of the property is one of its best features. A south-facing patio leads up a few steps to a vegetable garden and rear lawn, at the top of which are open fields, a beautiful spot from which to enjoy the local countryside.\r
